CORNER, OWEN, died 8 Jul 1943, Ordinary Seaman, Source/story: Trinidad Guardian, 27 Nov 1943: San Fdo. Nov 26: Confirmation of news of death of Mr Owen Corner of St Vincent, while serving on a Norwegian tanker, was received yesterday by his brother James Corner of Trinidad Leaseholds Ltd, Point-a-Pierre. He lost his life in mid Atlantic through enemy action. Brothers are Vivian - Sgt Instructor - RCAF, William, formerly Royal Canadian Engineers, now invalided, Cyril doing war work in Canada and James of TLL. M/T B.P. EDGHILL, J, Master, Inter Island Schooner, May/June 1942, from Trinidad. Source/story: Trinidad Guardian 20 June 1942: The schooner was stopped by a U-Boat and the crew ordered off into their lifeboats. The schooner was then sunk by shellfire. Edghill was last reported seen on the Bridge at this time.

POS, reported lost at sea. The Steamer travelling to US was sunk, it is said.
